A native New Yorker, I started my career as a science writer at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; first in pediatric psychiatry and then writing and reporting on grants for the head of the breast cancer department. After moving over to the marketing department for two years, I took a job at a small PR firm. Marriage brought me to Chicago where I. landed a copywriting position at Ogilvy & Mather, and later as a group creative director at FCB.
With a passion for entrepreneurship, I started my own agency, Lighton Colman and have reinvented that original firm several times. My category experience covers a wide swath of industries for whom I’ve done branding and omni-channel marketing. With a focus on the B2B side, I have also lent my talents to B2C marketing.
