Kaplan

Kaplan (formerly Kaplan Test Prep) is the established leader in higher education and the brand associated with pre-college tests such as the SAT and the ACT. We were recruited to help launch and name a new division whose job it would be to market college courses to motivated high school students.

 

Prelum, Powered by Kaplan refers to the status of the student who is not yet an “alum”, but rather someone who is testing out college courses to find the right fit; in other words, a Prelum. The list of universities includes some of the top names in the country: Columbia Business School, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Northwestern, The New School/Parsons Paris, Rice University, and others.

 

Since this was a new business launch, we created websites for each university, as well as email campaigns, social media marketing, and SEO content. This is a program in its 6th year and growing. In addition to earning a Certificate of Completion, many of the schools are now offering college credit. And the courses are as diverse as the student body: everything from medicine, business, and law to biology, bioengineering, video game design, women’s health, psychology, and more.

 

Best of all is the flexible format. Prelum courses can be studied anytime, anywhere at the student’s discretion. Courses are delivered through dynamic videos with interactive tools; a truly novel approach that is highly popular among students, many of whom find their majors and their preferred college through this inspirational program.
